How far ahead should we book?
For December and January, three to four months is sensible. For the rest of the year, six to eight weeks is usually enough. If your dates are fixed and close, write anyway — we can often still find rooms.
What does a trip usually cost?
Most of our trips land between $150 and $280 per person per day, including hotels, a private driver, guides and entry fees. The range depends on how much you want to spend on accommodation, not on how far you travel.
Can you work with a set budget?
Yes, and it helps to tell us the number early. We would rather show you what is possible at that budget than send a plan you have to cut down.
Are the guides and drivers licensed?
Every guide we work with holds a Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority licence, and every driver is insured for passenger transport. We have worked with most of them for more than five years.
Is Sri Lanka suitable for children?
Very. The main adjustment is shorter drives and more pool time. We build family trips with child seats, connecting rooms and one activity a day rather than three.
What happens if something goes wrong on the trip?
You call the number we give you on arrival. It reaches a person in Colombo, not a call centre, at any hour. We keep a 24-hour line for guests who are travelling with us.
