The shape of the trip

Day by day.

For people who would rather walk than drive. We keep the distances short, put you in bungalows with real fires, and leave the afternoons open for the kind of rain that makes the tea taste better.

  1. Days 1–2

    Kandy

A slow start around the lake, the Temple of the Tooth at evening puja, and a walk through the Udawattakele forest reserve.

  2. Days 3–4

    Nuwara Eliya

The train up through tea country, then a morning at a working estate — plucking, withering, rolling, and a proper tasting with the factory manager.

  3. Days 5–6

    Horton Plains & Haputale

World’s End before the mist closes in, then two nights at a bungalow above the cloud line. A short walk to Lipton’s Seat if the weather holds.

  4. Days 7–8

    Ella

The last stretch of the line, Little Adam’s Peak at sunrise, and a waterfall or two on the way to the airport.
