Classic
The Long Way Round
Colombo, the Cultural Triangle, the hill country and the south coast in one unhurried loop.
Colombo, Sri Lanka · Monday to Saturday, 9am–6pm (IST)
Island-wide · Family
Elephants, a turtle hatchery, a train ride and enough beach to keep everyone happy.
The shape of the trip
Built for families with children between five and fifteen. Shorter drives, hotels with pools, and one activity a day rather than three. We also build in a quiet afternoon every second day, because that is what actually makes a family trip work.
Close to the airport and easy on jet lag. A lagoon boat, a fish market, and an early night.
Sigiriya by the easier western path, Dambulla’s caves, and a village tuk-tuk tour the children usually remember longest.
A shorter train hop to Nanu Oya, a tea factory visit, and a morning at Victoria Park.
The elephant transit home at feeding time, then a gentle afternoon game drive with a family-friendly tracker.
A pool, a turtle hatchery, and a last day where nobody has to be anywhere.
